Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI) – “Doug’s win tonight gives the Republican Party the best chance at winning this seat in November.”
(Washington, D.C.) – Tonight, former U.S. Rep. Doug Ose (R-CA) finished in the top two in California’s 7th Congressional District primary. Ose’s finish tonight means that he will move on to face Rep. Ami Bera (D-CA) in the November general election. Ose is a former member of the Main Street Partnership and his campaign has been endorsed and supported by the Main Street PAC.
Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI), Chairman of the Main Street PAC, issued the following statement on behalf of the organization:
“Doug’s win tonight gives the Republican Party the best chance at winning this seat in November. Doug Ose is a dedicated public servant and a pragmatic conservative who is a perfect fit for this district.
“Doug Ose’s win is a win for the governing wing of the Republican Party.
“We were proud to support Doug’s primary campaign and look forward to working to ensure his election in November. If we are going to grow our majority these are the type of seats we have to win.”
